Pop Palace
Pop Palace is a ground-up, two-year project by Lambrakos Studio to create a singular space for an art-collecting family. Our firm designed the interior architecture, selected interior and exterior finishes, fixtures and furnishings. Pop Palace is equally luxuriant as it is playful, modern as it is expressive. Color punctuates each room, in response to this adventuresome client’s fine and decorative art collection. Surrounded by crisp tones of white-and-beige, these elements ‘pop.’ Strong geometric moves provide subtle drama, played out by the scale and style of fixtures, finishes and furnishings. The custom Bulthaup kitchen delimits zones of activity — island, cooking wall, butler’s pantry — in monolithic casework. Furnishings by preeminent historic contemporaries, Eileen Grey’s Bibendum chair and Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona bench, layer this contemporary environment — anchored by a B&B Italia sectional — with design history.
